When Are Property Taxes Due in Delaware?
Delaware has no state property tax; the three counties (New Castle, Kent, Sussex) each bill and collect, but all traditionally use the same annual due date of September 30 for combined county and school taxes. Note: due to recent court-ordered reassessments, New Castle County temporarily moved its 2025 deadline to December 31, so verify the current-year date with the county.

If you pay late: Balances unpaid after the due date generally incur a 6% penalty on the county portion the first month (with school/other line items penalized per county rules) plus roughly 1% per month thereafter.
